E Cigarette and Vaping Advertisements Can be Found Almost Every Form Media
Researchers recently found that adults are being exposed to e-cigarette marketing through the media, and that such marketing may target particular social groups differently. According to these researchers, the marketing and promotion of electronic cigarette wholesale through the media has significantly contributed to the rise in awareness and popularity of their use.
Current tobacco users may view e-cigarette products as viable smoking cessation aids, the researchers wrote. Adults are being exposed to electronic cigarette company marketing through the media, but the ads are reaching out to different social groups in different ways, according to this new study by researchers at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
In a press statement, Dr. Sherry Emery, senior research scientist at the UIC Institute of Health Research and Policy and lead author of this study, said, “These findings may have implications for e-cigarette marketing regulation.”
Dr. Emery and colleagues found that of the 17,522 study participants who were questioned in a 2013 online survey, 86 percent knew about e-cigarettes or some electronic cigarette manufacturer. Of those who knew about e-cigarettes, 47 percent had seen or heard ads for vaping (the act of using an e-cigarette) on TV, radio, print ads or online.
The study’s authors wrote these findings are significant "given how recently these products have entered the market and the fact that less than 20 percent of the US population was aware of them 5 years ago.” Of the various media outlets, TV was the most common medium. Nearly two thirds of study participants reported that they saw ads for e-cigs on TV. Other popular locations for e-cig advertising were through internet banner ads (14 percent), emails (13 percent), internet search engines (11 percent) and Facebook (9 percent).
According to the researchers, "There is evidence that rates of e-cigarette use and awareness also are increasing rapidly.”

Electronic Cigarette's Popularity and Advantages
The electronic cigarette or disposable electronic cigarette is an advanced form of cigarette that contains nicotine damped with water vapors. The electronic cigarette contains water vapors and low-level nicotine, which makes it possible for the smoker to smoke indoors. It is just like any ordinary cigarette, but with less nicotine concentration that makes it less harmful than ordinary cigarettes.
"There's a little red light on the end here that lights up so it looks like a cigarette," said a smoker. The smoker further said, "It gives you the feel of a cigarette, but, again there's no second hand smoke. The only thing that you're inhaling is water vapor." The electronic cigarettes were especially designed for those smokers who want to minimize the nicotine intake. These cigarettes consist of red light at the end of the tip, instead of nicotine ash and flame.
The e cigarette starter kit is getting increasingly popular all over the U.S. The demand for e-cigarettes is on the rise. An e-cigarette salesman said, “You can smoke indoors with them, that’s the biggest thing. We get a lot of phone calls (about e-cigarettes), I’ve sold quite a few over a period of two years. People like them."
Electronic cigarettes have minimzed the threat of second hand smoking. Second hand smoking is one of the main reasons why smoking is banned indoors. "Second hand smoke is a known carcinogen," said Cynthia Brown, with the Bullitt County Health Department. "The EPA has classified it as such, so we're trying to protect the public from this known hazard." Therefore, the promotion of electronic cigarette grew when it was observed that e-cigarettes from these famous electronic cigarette company pose no threat of second hand smoking.
But recently the Bullitt County Board of Health voted to ban smoking in public places, a ban that includes e-cigarettes, too. The e-cigarette users were amazed by the decision. Mr. Brown, in his reply to the ban, observed, "The bottom line on e-cigarettes is we don't know how dangerous they are. We don't know how much nicotine is being taken in by the person. We don't know how much nicotine is being exhaled by the person."
E cigarette in US Fashion Week

At last year’s New York fashion week it was difficult to go anywhere without seeing someone using electronic cigarettes casually. And why not? One of the event’s big sponsors was an American electronic cigarette company. And they think e cigarette is a good way to helping people quit smoking.
E-cigarette proponents say it is a good idea to promote vaping among current tobacco users who cannot, or do not, want to quit smoking. They say electronic cigarettes are substantially less harmful than tobacco, making them the perfect smoking alternative when nicotine replacement therapies just will not do. As fate would have it, the debate within the fashion world is actually taking place nearly universally.
How E-Cigarettes Work:
E-cigarette, the big difference from the traditional cigarette is that the atomisation process does not release dangerous chemicals as combustion does. That is why more and more experts are concluding that vaping is significantly safer than smoking. It is also why celebrities like Catherine Heigl and Ronnie Wood are not afraid to be seen in public with their best e cig.
Changing the Fashion Culture:
When you break down the e-cigarette debate to its most fundamental components, it seems as though conclusions should be based on medical evidence rather than supposition. If it is true that electronic cigarettes and e cigarette starter kit are magnitudes safer than tobacco, it makes no sense to try to discourage their use based on the notion that it will lead young people to tobacco. Why would a young person, addicted to nicotine, stop using a product that is safer in favour of one we already knows kills millions of people every year. Young people are not that stupid.
As far as the fashion world is concerned, it is high time to change the culture. If we can do that by replacing smoking with vaping, it’s a step in the right direction. At least everyone within the fashion industry would be using a product that does less harm than tobacco cigarettes. It would be refreshing to see, given what we already know about the destructive nature of the fashion world.
